The Special Education Team of the Idaho State Department of Education, Division of Student Achievement and School Accountability in association with the Idaho Training Clearinghouse is proud to present an electronic learning community on the Idaho Alternate Assessment. Liz Bermensolo Compton, a regional consultant at Boise State University, is the facilitator of the ELC.
IDEA 1997 required the State of Idaho to provide an alternate assessment to students with disabilities who cannot participate in the regular state- or district-wide assessments. The Idaho Alternate Assessment (IAA) is a rating scale assessment that is administered online.
